General Information About Cards and Drivers
- The following are Video Capture Drivers. They are VFW and WDM drivers.
There is a Universal WDM VFW Compatible Driver which
works with many different Video capture cards, and other good drivers for
specific video capture devices.
- When downloading these drivers be sure to download a copy of Video
Site Monitor Software - Remote Video monitoring software, since it
works great with these drivers Download Free Version
or Download Desk Version.
- For good operation it is best if you have one video capture device
installed on your machine. This avoids drivers from different venders
overwriting each other's files. It is possible to use multiple cards
and drivers, but chances of hardware and driver conflicts are higher.
- If using WDM drivers with Video Site Monitor Software, have no more than
one WDM driver loaded on your machine at any given time. Since WDM drivers
will be appear and be named as "Microsoft WDM Image Capture" under
menu item Settings, Video, Select Video Driver. No matter what the driver
name is.

and do not switch to video inputs that do not have cameras else driver stalls.

Additional Video Capture Cards
Universal WDM Video Capture Driver
Use the preferred video capture devices and drivers above. If that is not
possible try the following Universal WDM Driver as an alternative which works
with most all Conexant BT848 BT849 BT878 BT879 PCI video capture cards. Video Site Monitor Software should run on the following video capture cards
provided that you install the Universal WDM Video Capture Driver on them,
These cards are all PCI cards (not USB) and use the Bt8x8 chipset. For Windows
2003, XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98. The Universal WDM Video Capture Driver, is a very
good WDM

- Note: in order for this driver to work correctly both the "Conexant's
BtPCI WDM Video Capture" and "Conexant's BtPCI WDM Audio
Capture" parts of the driver must be installed. This can be
verified under Control Panel, Device Manager, Sound, video and game
controllers, to see if the both parts of the driver are listed as installed.
