Recommended Video Drivers and Hardware

For best program performance the following video hardware is recommended. 

(a) A  Logitech USB Video Camera
Use the most current video driver..
Video driver version 6.x works fine.
(Only one such camera can be used with Video Monitoring Software, not 8)

(b)  Hauppauge WinTV Go PCI capture board
Use the most current video driver.
The Video for Windows (VFW)  capture driver version: 3.11 for 2003,XP, 2000, NT and 2.4 for Me, 98, 95 are best.
(This board can be used to support up to 8 cameras with Video Monitoring Software)

(c)  1-4 cameras can be used with a 4 port video capture card from FG Engineering. 1-8 cameras can be used with a low cost video multiplexer from FG Engineering www.fgeng.com 

(d) Check www.fgeng.com for additional recommended, cameras, capture cards, or drivers. There are many to choose from.

Other cameras, capture boards or drivers may vary in their degree of quality and compatibility with this software. If using some other hardware or drivers they should be Video for Windows (VFW) compatible, and support RGB 32, RGB 24 or RGB 16 bits/pixel, and support image size resolutions of  320x240 or 160x120 pixels. For example some video capture hardware and drivers only support YUV9 and not RGB24 or RGB16. Such non-full featured video drivers will not work with this software. Download the free version of Video Monitoring Software software from www.fgeng.com to test and insure compatibility with your capture hardware.
