How to Use 2 or More Cameras

Video Monitoring Software works fine with single input video capture cards or devices.

To use 1 to 4 cameras, use a 4 port video capture available from FG Engineering www.fgeng.com

To use 1 to 8 cameras, add a low cost video multiplexer from FG Engineering www.fgeng.com to your existing video capture card.

A video multiplexer is a physical device which sequencially switches between different video inputs i.e. several cameras. This enables Video Monitoring Software program to effectively monitor for motion over many camera coverage zones at the same time.

The video multiplexer is available from FG Engineering. See web site www.fgeng.com under video multiplexer or contact sales@fgeng.com . It has been designed and manufactured by FG Engineering for use with Video Monitoring Software. It is low cost, relative to the price of other video multiplexers.

The video multiplexer is a small device which will fit into your computer and connects to your video capture card. Multiple cameras can then be attached to its ports. A model which sits external to the computer may also be available. The video multiplexer connects to video capture cards for example like the Hauppauge WinTV Go PCI video capture card. Note: it cannot be used to multiplex USB connectorized type cameras, but can be used with RCA or BNC type connectorized cameras along with video cards which have a RCA or BNC input connector.
