Change the Video Format
There are two ways to adjust the video format.
(a) Manually - Select menu item, Menu Location: Settings - Video - Video Format
If using a WDM driver: select Resolution (image size) to be 320x240 or 160x120. These are
the only image sizes supported by the program when in Monitor Mode. Or also
select video format to be RGB16, RGB24, or RGB32. Click OK.
Result: video format of image changes according to selection.
(b) Programmatically - Select menu item, Settings, Video, Video Set By Program
If your video driver supports changing video parameters programmatically,
then place a check mark beside Enable Program to Set Video Parameters, enter a
driver supported image size, and resolution (bits/pixel) and click OK.
Result: size of image changes and resolution changes according to selection.
If you get an error change the video format, if tied all video formats here with
error uncheck Enable Program to Set Video Parameters to disable it and just use
the manual method above.
- Use a format supported by the program: image sizes of 320x240 or 160x120,
and video formats of RGB16, RGB24, or RGB32.
- Check what video formats your driver supports: Select menu item, Settings - Video - Video Format. This will
list all the video formats supported by the driver. Be sure the driver supports
at least one of image sizes of 320x240 or 160x120, and one of RGB16, RGB24, or
RGB32 in order to be compatible with the program. If you do not have one of the
supported video formats go to (a) below.
- Select on of the supported video formats listed by the driver above e.g.
160x120 with RGB24. Select menu item Settings, Video, Video Set By Program.
Enter 160, beside Image Size. Enter 24, beside Resolution for RGB24. Place a
check mark beside, Enable Program to Set Video Parameters. Click OK. If you
get an error message go to (b) below.
- Select menu item Settings, Save Configuration.
Result: program starts up and runs with image size of 160x120 and RGB24.
- (a) Unable to use program because the driver does not support the formats
required by the program. Try loading a different driver or using a different
video capture device and driver which might have the supported formats
needed by this program.
- (b) If the format listed by the driver in 2 above, was selected in step 3
above, and clicking OK returned an error then the driver does not allow the Video Monitoring Software
program to directly change the video parameters. Then select menu item
Settings, Video, Video Set By Program uncheck, Enable Program to Set Video
Parameters. Select menu item Settings, Save Configuration. Result the
program is disabled from setting video format. Then use menu item Video,
Video Format to manually change the video format when needed.
