Send E-Mail When Motion Detected

Requirements: you need a functioning email program like Outlook Express, and be currently logged onto the Internet with your computer.

From Video Mode, with some video being displayed. 

Select menu item, Settings, Multiple Camera Scanning, clear check mark from Enable Scanning, and Show All Cameras Window.

Select menu item, Settings, Alarms, Define Alarm Condition, place a check mark beside, Total All Cameras, and clear all check marks from cameras 0-7. Enter detected frames equal 10 beside Total All Cameras. Enter Time Interval equal 30, click OK. (if you  get a warning message click OK or make recommended adjustments.).

Select menu item, Settings,  Alarms, Enable Email Alarm, check Enable Send E-Mail on Motion Detection, enter a valid working email address, click OK.

Log On to the internet.

Select menu item, Settings, Alarms,  Test  Send  EMail Now.

Result:
An email was sent, and a message box says EMail sent ... OK. If you did not get this OK, you will need to check your Outlook Express is configured correctly, testing the email address. If got OK proceed.

Select menu item, Monitor, Enable Capture to File.

( Also make sure menu item, Monitor, Activate Enabled Alarms and Capture, has already been selected i.e. status bar shows ARMED.)

Select menu item, Monitor, Monitor Start.

Wave your hand in front of the camera for over 30 seconds.

Result:
After 30 seconds, you should see an Outlook Express window sending and email.

Select menu item, Monitor, Enable Capture to File - uncheck it.

Select menu item, Monitor, Monitor Stop.

Open up Outlook Express, and check your email while you are online.

Result:
You should have received an email entitled, Video Monitoring Software Notification with time, date, with your Video Monitoring Software Remote ID, and number of frames captured.

Note:
If you were away and received this email at your remote location, and had  Video Monitoring Software setup for remote access, you could log on and review the captured video file which caused the alarm, and then also look in on the site with a live video audio feed from your remote location to visually inspect the site for the cause of the alarm.
