Internet CommunicationsMenu Location: Settings - Internet Communications Video Monitoring Software's interface to the internet is now handle by a small dedicated server program called Video Monitoring Software Web Server (abbrev. Video Monitoring SoftwareS or Server) which should run at the same time as Video Monitoring Software, in order for remote access to the Video Monitoring Software program to occur. Installing PWS or IIS is no longer needed. Video Monitoring Software Web Server is accessed remotely from your web browser. It returns a log on web page, and Video Monitoring Software program admin web page used to send remote control commands to the Video Monitoring Software program over the Internet, local network, or from your computers desktop. Video Monitoring Software Web Server and your web browser also allow you to remotely download captured video files, and receive a remote live video/audio feed. You can start the Server program from the Video Monitoring Software menus, hide the server program so it runs in the background, show it make it visible, and have it start every time Video Monitoring Software starts, and automatically close every time Video Monitoring Software closes. For instructions on how to run or simply configure the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program, see the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program menu item, Help, Help Documentation. To run the Web Server, use Video Monitoring Software's menu item, Internet Communications, Start Video Monitoring Software Web Server Now. Start Video Monitoring Software Web Server Now This menu item starts up and runs the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program to run along side Video Monitoring Software. If the program is already running the command is ignored. The presence of Video Monitoring Software Web Server is shown by a small black network icon at the bottom of your computer screen on the task bar, unless you set Video Monitoring SoftwareS options to hide the program then you will need to use hotkey Windows + V, to make it visible. Show Video Monitoring Software Web Server This menu item cause the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program to be made visible on your computer screen, maximizing it from the taskbar icon. Minimize Video Monitoring Software Web Server This menu item minimizes the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program to a small black icon on the Windows taskbar. Note: You can left or right click with your mouse on the Video Monitoring SoftwareS icon to show or hide the Video Monitoring SoftwareS program. Or from the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program itself hide the program so it does not even have an icon on the taskbar. In that case you will need to use a hotkey e.g. Windows Key + V (pressed at the same time) in order to make the program visible. Optionally a password can be set to make it visible. Launch Web Server at Startup This menu item is enabled when there is a check mark beside it. It cause the Video Monitoring Software Web Server program to startup automatically when ever Video Monitoring Software starts and close whenever Video Monitoring Software closes. Convenient feature and also useful if Video Monitoring Software starts up automatically on computer reboot.
