Use Top IP AddressMenu Location: Settings - This Computers IP Address - Use Top IP Address If checked the top IP address as shown in menu item List IP Addresses is used, else the bottom IP address in the list is used. The IP address is used in email alarm messages, for Video Web Mode to establish the URL to the live video link, and the IP address to upload using the Upload IP feature. Some operating systems and the state of the network sometimes do not generate IP addresses in a consistent order. Adjusting this value can compensate for IP address errors. For example, to determine whether to enable this parameter or not, when connecting to the internet select menu item, Settings, This Computer's IP Address, List IP Addresses. Notice if the newly listed IP address for the Internet connection appears at the top or the bottom of the list. If it appears at the top, enable this item. If appears at bottom uncheck this item. Log on, and off the Internet several times, each time view List IP Address. This will tell you whether you need to enable the setting Use Top Address. Consider changing this parameter if IP address in the email alarm message is not correct or an inability to connect to Web Live Mode. Also if the Upload IP feature does not recognize when it is connected to the internet or not. |
