Configure Live Mode

Menu Location: Settings - Quick Configuration - Configure Live Mode

Before Video Monitoring Software can be used to establish a live video feed over the internet, Web Live Mode needs to be configured. This means configuring Windows Media Encoder. Configuration consists of  selecting the video and audio capture device found on your computer to use, and the video port to use. It can be done either with the help of a configuration wizard, or manually. It is recommended that you do it with the help of the Wizard, or later Manually if need be.

Note: you need to have a working sound card or device in your computer first.

Configure Live Mode with Wizard

This is done from the Video Monitoring Software main program menu. Select menu item, Settings, Quick Configuration, Configure Live Mode. This will pop-up a help menu which will guide you through the process.

Please be patient and wait for all the windows to open before configuring. The wizard closes Video Monitoring Software, starts up Windows Media Encoder, and then after the help menus will appear.

During first configuration, the Encoder may pop-up an error message or two - in that case clear them, till the Encoder displays itself, then the help windows will appear.

Configure Live Mode Manually

This procedure gives you the option of following some written instructions and doing it yourself, just in case the wizard fails, or you want to use advanced features. Click here to on how to do it manually.

Note:

After Configuring Live Mode, use menu item Mode, Web Live Mode to put Video Monitoring Software in Live Mode, in order to see if any errors pop-up. If so go back an re-configure Windows Media Encoder again.

Click on menu item, Settings, Quick Configuration, Example: Access Program with Web Browser, after finished for a quick way to see what remote access looks like.
