Remote Access ConfigurationRouters PreparationIf your are using software fire walls, consider turning them off while you configure remote access so they do not interfere with setup and testing. After re-enable and configure them. We do not support your firewall software, routers or networks - consult their manuals and manufactures. (1) For ADSL Modem, Cable Modem, Dialup ModemConnect computer directly to the modem and the internet. Make sure Video Monitoring Software program and Video Monitoring Software Web Server program are both up and running on the local computer. (a) For Static IP Address SystemsFrom a browser anywhere on the internet just enter http://MyComputerIpAddress/Video Monitoring Softwarelogon.htm where MyComputerIPAddress is ip address of your computer when connected to the internet. Should return the Video Monitoring Software Home Page. Click through to the Video Monitoring Software Administration Page under heading View Live Video Feed, click one of the links to start to remotely view video from your cameras. (b) For Dynamic IP Address SystemsEnable the Upload IP Address feature of the Video Monitoring Software program. It uploads ip address whenever you connect to the internet, every 3 hours, or whenever the Video Monitoring Software program starts. Go to the www.fgeng.com web site, click on link, Find Your Video Monitoring Software Program on the Internet. Enter your Video Monitoring Software Remote ID, and click on link, Second Link to Your Web Site. It should be the address of your computer. Result: returns your Video Monitoring Software Home Page where you can logon to your Video Monitoring Software system. Then click to the Video Monitoring Software Program Administration Page, and do the Live Video Feed Automatic or Manual Method. On the Video Monitoring Software Program Administration Page click on any of the links under heading, View Live Video Feed, click one of the links to start to remotely view video from your cameras. (2) Remote Access through a RouterOpen HTTP Port on your router. Generally it is port 80. It is need to communicate with Video Monitoring Software Web Server program. Note: if you configure Video Monitoring Software Web Server to use a different listening port then open the corresponding port on your router. ( Video Monitoring Software Web Server menu item Server, Listening Port). Open Video Streaming Port on your router. Default is port 1048. If you configure Windows Media Encoder to use a different video streaming port, then open the corresponding port on your router. See Manually Configure Live Mode. You can check which video port is being used from the Video Monitoring Software Program Administration Web Page - click on link, Get Video Port URL to connect with Media Player - it returns the video port number being used by the Video Monitoring Software program. Other Ports You may also have to open other standard ports on your router to accommodate sending email alarms (port 25), or doing FTP file transfers (port 20,21). You may have to make further configurations to you router so as to allow outside computers access your computer behind the router - see your router's manual or manufacturer. To Access Video Monitoring Software Program through Router Make sure Video Monitoring Software program and Video Monitoring Software Web Server program are both up and running on the local computer, and that the correct ports are open on your router. Put Video Monitoring Software program in Web Monitor Mode. From a remote computer on the internet on the other side of the router, open up the web browser, enter http://RouterIpAddress/Video Monitoring Softwarelogon.htm , where RouterIpAddress is the ip address of the router. Result: you should get the Video Monitoring Software program Home Page, enter password if set, and click enter. Result: you should get the Video Monitoring Software Program Administration Page. If not check router configured is right. To Start Live Video Feed through Router From the Video Monitoring Software Program Administration - do Live Video Feed via Manual Method click on link, Put Program in Live Mode with configuration file number:1 click on link, Get Video Port URL to connect with Media Player - note the
video port number returned. Open Windows Media Player on the remote computer - do menu item File, Open or Open URL and enter http://RouterIPAddress:VideoPortNumber and execute, for instance http://167.234.191.0:1048, where VideoPortNumber is the video port number noted in the previous step. Result: Windows Media Player starts to play live video and audio from the Video Monitoring Software computer. (a) Router with Static IP AddressJust remember your router's static ip address. Then when from any computer on the internet just enter the following into the browser to connect to your Video Monitoring Software program, http://RouterIpAddress/Video Monitoring Softwarelogon.htm With a router static ip address, you could also do a Live Video Feed Automatic Method, instead of the Manual Method above. From the Video Monitoring Software program menu item, Settings, This Computer's IP Address, Enable Upload IP Address, put a check mark beside, Use IP Address, and enter the router's static ip address. Click OK and Save Configuration. Note: if set so then the Live Video Feed Automatic Method works remotely, but then Live Video Feed Automatic Method will not work from inside your network. If you want to do both live video feeds within your network and from outside your network through a router then just use the the Live Video Feed Manual Method described above when coming in through the router and do not enable, Use IP Address. (b) Router with Dynamic IP AddressEnable the Upload IP Address feature of the Video Monitoring Software program. It uploads ip address every 3 hours the www.fgeng.com web site or whenever the Video Monitoring Software program starts. Go to the www.fgeng.com web site, click on link, Find Your Video Monitoring Software Program on the Internet. Enter your Video Monitoring Software Remote ID, and click on link, First Link to Your Web Site. It should be address of your router. Result: returns your Video Monitoring Software Home Page where you can logon to your Video Monitoring Software system. Then click to the Video Monitoring Software Program Administration Page, and do the Live Video Feed Manual Method described above.
