Send IP Address Settings Menu Location: Settings - IP Address Tracking Enable Send IP Address If checked sends your computer's IP address to our web site. You must be connected to the internet for this feature to work. Then you can go to our web site and look-up your computer's IP address. The IP address is sent about every 3 hours. Handy if your computer's IP address changes when your away from home so you can locate your computer on the internet and then connect to it eg with your web browser to remotely review video captured files, or connect and look at live video of your monitored site. Address of Remote Server Place to where the computer's IP address will be sent which is our web site's computer server. When you install the Video Surveillance WebCam Software the default value here should be correct, so don't change it. Go to our web site to look-up "Address of Remote Server" in case we change it, at some future time. IP/URL Address of your Router on the Internet If you are using a router enter your router's IP address in here. The Video Surveillance WebCam Software does not automatically read your router's IP address, you need lookup your own router's IP address, and manually enter it in here. Try to get a static IP address for your router from your internet service provider since it works best. Or enter your router's assigned URL address here. Go to www.dyndns.org to get a URL for your router. They will track the IP address of your router for you. You will need to configure your router for Dynamic DNS. Also you will need to configure your router to do Port Forwarding to your computer. The IP/URL value you enter here must be remain constant and valid for at least 30 days for reasonably good operation. Otherwise every time your routers address changes you will always have to change this value in order for the remote viewing links in the Media Player Page to work. Note: if Router's IP Address or Computer's IP Address settings are not set correctly, then the Video Surveillance WebCam Software cannot automatically send live video to you remotely over the internet. Automatically in the sense of clicking links in the Monitoring Program's web pages to start live video in Windows Media Player. Otherwise you will need to manually open Windows Media Player yourself and type in your router's ip address and streaming video port, when the Video Surveillance WebCam Software is in Stream Mode. If your just going to be access the program form your internal LAN network, this value could also be your Computer Name on the network. Use Top Address in List Tells the Video Surveillance WebCam Software which computer IP address to use in the list of Computer IP Addresses displayed by menu item Show Computer's IP Addresses. By default the program uses the IP address at the bottom of the displayed list. To use the computer IP address at the top of the list, put a check mark beside this item. Use this, if every time you connect to the internet, the connection's IP address always shows up at the top of the list, instead of at the bottom of the list. The word "list" does not include the Router's IP Address. Helps the Video Surveillance WebCam Software set up the web page links for your remote viewing. Show and Save Send IP Errors The Video Surveillance WebCam Software does not save send IP address errors, since there can be many of them if you are not connected to the internet. Enable this item if you want Send IP Address errors to displayed and recorded to file.
